Ask if medical marijuana is appropriate for your condition. In New York, there is a very specific list of severe debilitating or life-threatening illnesses, along with complicating conditions, which may make you eligible for medical marijuana.
It is important to understand that not every practitioner is able to issue you a certification for medical marijuana. In order to do so, a practitioner must be registered with the New York State Department of Health’s medical marijuana program. Be sure to ask your provider if they are properly registered.
